46 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has satisfied himself that the construction industry has the capacity to meet the construction needs set out in the national development plan, particularly having regard to the concerns expressed in the document Framework for Action on Infras tructural Developments Including Public Private Partnership; the action, if any, being taken to expand the construction sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to my reply to Question No. 88 of 26 January, 2000.

The interim report of the Forum for the Construction Industry on increasing the capacity of the construction industry has been published. I issued a press statement on 19 February 2000 welcoming the report and setting out the position in relation to the implementation of each of the recommendations in the report.
