70 Mr. Roche asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the name, the year of establishment, the basis under statute, statutory instrument or otherwise of commercial and non-commercial State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department; the fees paid to the chairman and ordinary directors of these bodies; and when these fees were last agreed. Notes:
1.The Regional Fisheries Boards (7) were established in 1980 under S.I. No. 324 of 1980, Fisheries Regions Order, 1980. The Chairmen and members of these Boards do not receive any fees.
2.Non-Commercial Harbours
Under the 1946 and 1976 Harbours Acts there are 15 Harbour Authorities in existence. The Chairpersons and Directors of these Authorities do not receive any fees.
3.The Salmon Research Agency of Ireland (SRAI) was established pursuant to Trust in 1956. The Chairman and members are not paid any fees. This agency is being integrated with the Marine Institute.
4.COFORD the Council for forestry research and development, was established on a non-statutory basis in 1993. Its directors do not receive any fees.
5.The Fisheries Co-operative Societies (8) were established in 1992 under S.I. No. 126 of 1992 Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1991 (Fisheries Co-operative Societies) Order, 1992. The Chairmen of these societies do not receive fees.
