Vol. 517 No. 5

Written Answers. - Semi-State Bodies.

Dick Roche

Question:

72 Mr. Roche asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the name, the year of establishment, the basis under statute, statutory instrument or otherwise of commercial and non-commercial State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department; the fees paid to the chairman and ordinary directors of these bodies; and when these fees were last agreed. [10235/00]

The only State-sponsored body under the aegis of the Department is the Agency for Personal Service Overseas – APSO – which was established in 1973 and incorporated in 1974 under the Companies Act (1963) to promote and sponsor temporary personal service by skilled Irish people in developing countries. No fees are paid either to the chairperson or to members of the board of APSO.
