Question:

91 Mr. Roche asked the Minister for Finance the number of people employed as non-industrial civil servants, industrial civil servants, local authority officers and servants including health boards and vocational education committees (but excluding vocational teachers), national teachers, sec ondary teachers, vocational teachers, community teachers, comprehensive teachers, in universities, in other third level institutions, in non-commercial State-sponsored bodies, in commercial State companies, gardaí, Defence Forces and other posts in the public service at 31 December in each of the years from 1991 to 1999. The number of people employed in the public sector, which includes the commercial state companies between 31 December 1991 and 31 December 1999, are set out on the following table. In relation to the number of employees in the health boards, and in the various sectors in Education, requested by the Deputy, I will ask the Ministers for Health and Children and Education and Science to forward the details to you directly.
