Vol. 517 No. 6

Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme.

Dan Neville

Question:

182 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a farm retirement pension will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [10785/00]

The person named applied for an early retirement pension on 31 August 1999. Because of the large volume of applications under the scheme which were received in the closing months of 1999, there is a significant backlog at present. The applications on hands are being processed by local office staff in conjunction with other priority work.

On examination of this application a number of queries have arisen regarding a Land Registry dealing number, the applicant's RSI number, and birth certificates. The officer dealing with the case has recently written to the applicant requesting clarification of these matters and on receipt of the applicant's reply the processing of this case will be completed.
