Vol. 517 No. 6

Written Answers. - Financial Services Regulations.

Billy Kelleher

Question:

205 Mr. Kelleher asked the Minister for Finance if he has satisfied himself with the Central Bank's guidelines and directives to mortgage lending institutions in regard to the amount of money that can be loaned to an individual; if the lending houses are adhering to these guidelines; and, if not, the measures at his disposal to ensure proper lending criteria are followed. [10736/00]

The prudential supervision of credit institutions is a matter for the Central Bank and I, as Minister for Finance, have no function in the matter.
