Vol. 517 No. 6

Written Answers. - Blood Transfusion Service.

Bernard Allen

Question:

265 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the serious allegations made by the regional director of the Blood Transfusion Service Board, based at the Cork centre at St Finbarr's Hospital, against senior members of the board and the Irish Hospital Consultants' Association dissatisfaction at the way in which the investigating panel was constituted. [10659/00]

Responsibility for human resource issues in indi vidual health agencies, including the Irish Blood Transfusion Service – formerly the Blood Transfusion Service Board – is a matter for the individual organisation's board of management, having regard to relevant employment legislation. Accordingly, the issues raised by the Deputy are a matter for the board of the IBTS.
