Question:

354 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the land registry maps which he requires as a matter of urgency. [10960/00]

I am informed by the registrar of titles that this application for a certified copy filed plan showing special features is in respect of folio 41041 Mayo which was lodged on 2 March 2000 and completed on 10 April 2000. I am further informed that folio 40735 Mayo is closed and the property now forms part of folio 41041 Mayo.

Question:

355 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason for the delay in having land registered in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon as it is ongoing for almost three years. [10962/00]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a section 49 application, that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 22 January 1999.

I understand that, due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. Accordingly it is not possible to estimate a precise completion date at this stage. However, I assure the Deputy that the application is being expedited by the Land Registry.
