Vol. 517 No. 6

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

361 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a final decision will be given on an application for naturalisation or citizenship for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who made an application almost a year and a half ago; the reason for the delay in this case, if he will make a decision in the very near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10583/00]

The application for naturalisation from the person referred to by the Deputy was submitted to my Department in December 1998.

I expect to be in a position to advise both the applicant and the Deputy of my decision in this case shortly.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

362 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position in relation to applications for naturalisation by persons (details supplied) which were submitted in April 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10584/00]

The applications for certificates of naturalisation referred to by the Deputy are in the final stages of the process. As soon as full consideration has been given to these cases, I will advise the applicants and the Deputy of my decision.
