361 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a final decision will be given on an application for naturalisation or citizenship for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who made an application almost a year and a half ago; the reason for the delay in this case, if he will make a decision in the very near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The application for naturalisation from the person referred to by the Deputy was submitted to my Department in December 1998.
I expect to be in a position to advise both the applicant and the Deputy of my decision in this case shortly.
362 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position in relation to applications for naturalisation by persons (details supplied) which were submitted in April 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10584/00]
The applications for certificates of naturalisation referred to by the Deputy are in the final stages of the process. As soon as full consideration has been given to these cases, I will advise the applicants and the Deputy of my decision.
