Vol. 517 No. 6

Written Answers. - Court Services.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

373 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the new south east regional Court Services office will be located in Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10833/00]

I am informed by the chief executive officer of the Courts Service that the issue of regionalisation of certain responsibilities is currently being considered in the context of the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the service being provided. I understand that such consideration is still at a very early stage of deliberation and no decisions have been made on the staffing or location of regional offices.

Officials of my Department will be in discussions with the Courts Service on this matter in due course.
