73 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will make a statement on her meeting of 3 March 2000 with the chairman and chairman designate of the RTE Authority; and the matters discussed and any conclusions reached. [10891/00]
I held a meeting with representatives of the RTE authority and senior management on 3 March 2000 at RTE's request arising from media coverage in relation to the project to establish a digital terrestrial television entity. The complexities of developing a satisfactory transaction process and some of the possible options for moving the process forward were discussed at the meeting. It was agreed by both sides that these discussions should be confidential at this time and I undertook to meet members of the authority again in the matter.
