Vol. 518 No. 1

Written Answers. - Company Law.

Nora Owen

Question:

97 Mrs. Owen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when she will introduce amending regulations to cover undertaking for collective investment in transferable securities in the same way as Part XIII companies are covered in the Companies Act, 1990 and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10988/00]

A number of amendments to the European Communities (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) Regulations, 1989 to 1999, are planned. These include similar changes to those made for Part XIII, Investment Companies, in the Companies (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1999 which was enacted last December. My Department is well advanced in developing the amending regulations which are expected to be made in the latter half of this year.
