Vol. 518 No. 1

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

107 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the plans, if any, he has to have repairs carried out to Meenagahane pier, Causeway, County Kerry and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11207/00]

The pier at Meenagahane is owned by Kerry County Council and its repair and maintenance is the responsibility of the local authority in the first instance. Meenagahane is included on the list of piers and harbours projects in the county, submitted by the county council to my Department for funding support. The scope for funding works at Meenagahane will be kept under review by my Department in consultation with Kerry County Council in light of available resources in 2000 and forward years.
