Vol. 518 No. 3

Written Answers. - Information Technology Systems. Departmental Staff.

John McGuinness

Question:

212 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if a qualified person is employed in the Department to develop information communication technology systems for use in the Department, on an inter-department basis and outwards to conduct business with the general public and public representatives. [11657/00]

The ICT unit in my Department has a staffing complement of 22 whose main focus is on the development and maintenance of ICT systems for the Department. These staff, some of whom have over 20 years experience in ICT, have different levels of ICT-specific qualifications in areas such as project management, systems analysis, systems development and technical support.
