Vol. 518 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Michael D. Higgins

Question:

320 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, he has to provide a new parish primary school at Luttrelstown, Porterstown, Castleknock, Dublin 15, in view of the extraordinary pace of house building in the area and the consequent enormous increase in the number of primary school children now and over the next decade. [11730/00]

I am well aware of the major housing development that is taking place in the Dublin 15 area and the pressure that this is imposing on first and second-level schools in the area. I understand that an application for a new school in the parish of Porterstown is to be submitted to my Department in the near future and this application will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
