Question:

84 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the members of the Irish Agrément Board; the dates of appointment of each member; the terms and duration of appointment; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11636/00]

The following schedule details the members of the Irish Agrément Board, the year of their appointment and the nominating body.

(i)Construction Industry Federation (CIF)

Two members, nominated as follows:

Mr. Eamon Corcoran,

Dr. John Reid,

Managing Director,

P.J. Walls (Irl) Ltd.,

Rathmines,

Glandore Road,

Dublin 6.

Griffith Avenue,Dublin 9.

Mr. Corcoran was appointed to the board on 3 March 1988 and Dr. Reid on 7 March 1995.
(ii)Irish Business Employers Committee (IBEC)
Two members, nominated as follows:

Mr. Paul Kelly,

Mr. George Yeates,

IBEC,

Product Manager,

Gypsum Industries plc.,

Dublin 14.

Mr. Yeates was appointed on 10 March 1994 and Mr. Kelly on 5 October 1999.
(iii)Department of the Environment and Local Government (DELG)
Two members, nominated as follows:

Mr. Joseph Twomey,Construction Industry Division,Department of the Environment,O'Connell Bridge House,Dublin 2.

Mr. McCarthy was appointed on 1 October 1996 and Mr. Twomey on 12 February 1992.
(iv)Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI)
One member, nominated as follows:

Mr. O'Beirne was appointed on 3 March 1988.

Mr. McShane was appointed on 3 March 1988.
(vi)Enterprise Ireland (EI)
One member nominated as follows:

Glasnevin,
Dublin 9.
Mr. Kerrigan was appointed on 27 May 1997.
(vii)National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), is represented by the Director of Standards.
Mr Enda McDonnell,
NSAI,
Glasnevin,
Dublin 9.
Mr McDonnell was appointed to the board when he took up his post as director of standards in February 2000.
Terms of Office
IAB board members are nominated by the representative bodies detailed above and receive no remuneration from the NSAI as members of the Irish Agrément Board.
Period of Office
IAB board members are appointed initially for a four year duration by the NSAI director of standards in accordance with the terms of reference for the Irish Agrément Board. Reappointment is on a roll-over basis at the request of the nominating bodies, that is, CIF, IBEC, DELG, RIAI, ACEI, EI and NSAI.
