Question:

140 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Finance when the first annual report under the Bretton Woods (Amendment) Act, 1999, will be presented to the Oireachtas as is required; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11470/00]

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

147 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Finance if he has published the report on Ireland's participation in the international financial institutions as stipulated in the Bretton Woods (Amendment) Act, 1999, particularly with regard to Irish support for debt relief; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11643/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 140 and 147 together.

The report on Ireland's participation in the World Bank and IMF is currently in preparation. It is my intention to publish it in the near future. The Deputies will appreciate that, as this is the first such report to be produced, a considerable amount of preparation is necessary. I can assure the Deputies that the Irish position with regard to debt relief will be comprehensively outlined in the report.
