Vol. 519 No. 3

Written Answers - Health Board Investigations.

Tom Enright

Question:

165 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has been in further communication with the Midland Health Board with regard to the death of a person (details supplied) in County Laois; if he has had further investigations made into the circumstances surrounding the death of this person; and if the Midland Health Board have concluded their investigations and reported back to the Minister in this tragic case. [13941/00]

The provision of medical services in this case is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. However, I understand from the board that the investigations into this case are nearing completion. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to communicate directly with the Deputy when investigations are complete.
