Vol. 519 No. 3

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

150 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the final instalments of his 1999 sheep and cattle premia. [13791/00]

Payment of the final instalment of the 1999 ewe premium and the balance of the 1999 suckler cow premium is being made to the person named this week.

Michael Ring

Question:

151 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will list the parcel numbers on the 1999 area aid application for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo where there are still difficulties and the parcel numbers that the herd owners has yet to submit to prove his entitlement to claim. [13792/00]

There are still difficulties with the following parcels because the herdowner has thus far failed to submit sufficient evidence to claim these commonage parcels; P25005006, P25007001, P25012012, P25012013, P25020001.

John Ellis

Question:

152 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will arrange payment of 1999 cattle headage and premiums due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [13793/00]

When the person named submitted applications under the 1999 cattle headage scheme and the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme, he was not the registered herdowner of the herd number quoted. An application for transfer of the herd number was subsequently received by my Department from the person named and I am now in a position to confirm that the herd number has been transferred into his name. Payment of grants under the 1999 cattle headage scheme and the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme will issue to him within the next two weeks.

John Perry

Question:

153 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the plans he has in place to reintroduce the stables and arena grant; when it will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13794/00]

Under the National Development Plan 2000-2006, a sum of £12 million is provided for a scheme of housing and handling facilities for alternative enterprises including horses. It is proposed that stabling and sand arenas will be eligible investments under the scheme.

This measure is a component of the regional operational programmes for the Border, midland and western region and southern and eastern region. These programmes have now been forwarded to the European Commission for approval. The negotiation process leading to Commission clearance is expected to take a number of months and consequently the measure is unlikely to come onstream until later in the year.
