Vol. 519 No. 3

Written Answers - Tax Clearance Certificates.

Willie Penrose

Question:

157 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Finance the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that a tax clearance certificate, which has been applied for by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath, is immediately issued; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13902/00]

In order that a person's entitlement to a tax clearance certificate can be determined, it is necessary that a formal application for such a certificate be made to the Collector-General. No such application has been received by the Collector-General in this instance. However, it is understood that an application is being prepared and the completed application will be processed by the Collector-General without delay upon receipt.
