Vol. 519 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

David Stanton

Question:

133 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science if a report has been submitted to his Department advising the appointment of classroom assistant and or resource teachers and or other supports to the Christian Brothers primary school in Midleton, Co. Cork; his views on whether such additional supports are required; if he will make resources available so that an additional resource teacher or remedial teacher will be made available to the school and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14037/00]

The school referred to by the Deputy has applied to my Department for the allocation of additional resources. My Department has now received a report from the school's inspector, which outlines the needs of the school in question.

Officials in my Department are currently considering this report and the board of management of the school will be notified as soon as a decision has been reached. A decision is expected shortly.
