Vol. 519 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Willie Penrose

Question:

161 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps, if any, he will take to have a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath admitted to Tullamore general hospital, to have an operation carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14640/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
