175 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Health and Children the provision which has been made and the timescale for construction of a new health centre in Roundstone, County Galway; and if his attention has been drawn to the distress being caused to patients and their general practitioners in this regard. The provision of health centres in County Galway is, in the first instance, the responsibility of the Western Health Board.

I have been advised by the Western Health Board that tenders have not yet been sought in respect of the Roundstone Health Centre. This project will, however, be funded under the national development plan.
