Vol. 519 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Tom Enright

Question:

216 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received correspondence from Deputy Enright dated 9 February 2000 and 5 April 2000 in relation to problems on the roof of St. Brendan's community school, Birr, County Offaly; if so, the reason for the delay in replying to this correspondence in relation to this urgent problem; and when he will be in a position to rectify the problems as outlined in such correspondence. [14631/00]

A final response to the Deputy's correspondence concerning St. Brendan's community school in Birr was not issued pending an analysis of a report commissioned by my Department on the condition of the school, including its roof. It is anticipated that the analysis of the condition report will be completed shortly after which my Department will determine its approach to resolving the difficulties at this school.

The Deputy will be informed of developments in this case.
