Vol. 519 No. 7

Written Answers. - Income Assistance.

Phil Hogan

Question:

65 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if there is any income for a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary who has worked in the mines for 14 years and who developed a health problem because of this work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14843/00]

Health problems from mining are not covered by the minerals development Acts. The person in question might wish to take the matter up with the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, who has responsibility for disability pensions and workmen's compensation or with his former employer.
