Vol. 520 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

108 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will take steps to have the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath immediately examined with a view to having him admitted to Tullamore General Hospital for a hip replacement operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15827/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
