Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

128 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging a hip replacement operation for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is a public patient and on a waiting list; and if he will make a statement on the issue of waiting lists in this area. [16024/00]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
