Question:

172 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he will give details of each of the review or study groups which he has established to review the various aspects of his Department; the date of the establishment of each group; the matters under review for each group; and the expected dates when each group will present their final report to him. [15970/00]

As part of the ongoing work in my Department, a wide range of reviews and studies are carried out by staff of the Department as part of their normal work. These generally do not involve additional costs or the publication of formal reports. External consultants may be commissioned to carry out specific assignments, including sometimes the preparation of reports or other documentation, in relation to policy issues or to aspects of the administration of the Department's schemes and services. Generally speaking it is not considered necessary for such reports to be published.

Details of reviews and studies involving external consultancies which have been established since I took office and in respect of which reports or other documentation have or will be prepared are as follows:
