Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Bernard Allen

Question:

193 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason he has refused a visa application for the spouse of a person (details supplied) in Cork on three separate occasions in view of the unhappiness this is causing this person who may be forced to resign his position as a doctor at a hospital (details supplied). [15989/00]

As I advised the Deputy in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 251 of 4 April 2000, my Department is currently reviewing its policy in respect of the admission of persons who require a visa and who are family members of persons who are legally employed in the State. I expect this review to be completed in the near future.
