28 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when he expects to lay before the House the Irish Sport Council's recently finalised statement of strategy for 2000-02; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15906/00]
The Irish Sports Council has submitted a draft statement of strategy for 2000-02 for approval as required under section 25 of the Irish Sports Council Act, 1999. My Department is in consultation with the council in relation to a small number of issues in the strategy, which require clarification. As soon as I have approved the council's statement of strategy, I propose to submit it to Government for information, after which it will be laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas.
