Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Donal Moynihan – the possibility of decentralisation of Government offices to Macroom and other northwest Cork towns; (2) Deputy Joe Higgins – the concern over the racially motivated attack on a mixed race group of people in Pearse Street, Dublin, on Sunday, 11 June 2000; (3) Deputy Enright – the long delay being experienced by a person (details supplied) in obtaining Irish nationalisation status; (4) Deputy Richard Bruton – the use of students to correct State exam papers; (5) Deputy Durkan – the treatment of persons transferring from disabled person's maintenance allowance to disability allowance; (6) Deputy Kenny – the provision of a school with five classrooms for St. Anthony's special school, Castlebar, County Mayo; (7) Deputy Gormley – the serious staffing problems at St. Bridget's national school in Haddington Road; (8) Deputy Fitzgerald – the need for action in relation to unprovoked and racist attacks on the streets of Dublin; (9) Deputy Shatter – the increase of racist crimes in Dublin; (10) Deputy Stanton – the need to take urgent action against school-based promotions which target children and their parents; (11) Deputy Timmins – the removal of the brains from the victims of a crash on the N11 in September 1998 without the knowledge of the families; (12) Deputy Sargent – the need to introduce a new Finance Bill to counter the huge increase in inflation; (13) Deputy Finucane – the need to proceed as a matter of urgency with Gaelscoil Ó Dhogair in Caisleán Nua, Contae Luimnighí; (14) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need to initiate an employment programme for the provision of personal assistants to people with disabilities and (15) Deputy Howlin – the need for additional geriatric beds and staffing for geriatric units in County Wexford.

The matters raised by Deputies O'Sullivan, Richard Bruton, Stanton and Joe Higgins have been selected for discussion.
