Vol. 521 No. 2

Written Answers. - Compensation Awards.

Willie Penrose

Question:

75 Mr. Penrose asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 120 of 10 May 2000, she will make a statement on the situation of a person (details supplied) who was awarded compensation for injuries sustained during the course of his employment. [16865/00]

From inquiries I have made in this case the Workmen's Compensation Act does not appear to come within my Department's competence. I am, however, contacting my colleague the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs to endeavour to establish how this matter may be progressed and I will ensure the Deputy is kept informed of developments in this matter.
