Vol. 521 No. 2

Written Answers. - General Register Office.

Billy Timmins

Question:

120 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide a detailed analysis of the revenue raised by the Central Register Office through search fees, the provision of photocopies, and the provision of certificates for each year since 1990; the current position in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16873/00]

The administration of the registration system is a matter for An tArd-Chláraitheoir, the Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and for local registrars who operate under his general direction. It is assumed that it is the General Register Office that the Deputy intended to refer to.

The information sought by the Deputy is not held in such format in the General Register Office as to make it readily available at short notice. The information is required to be extracted from the records in the General Register Office dating back to 1990 and will be provided direct to the Deputy as soon as possible.
