Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Jim Higgins

Question:

145 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who has been five months on the Western Health Board waiting list for an appointment with regard to glaucoma can expect her appointment. [17129/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
