305 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Science if school transport will be provided for a mildly mentally handicapped person (details supplied) in Dublin 3; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17283/00]

I have asked officials in my Department to examine the issue of school transport for the pupil referred to by the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

My Department will be in contact with the parents of the pupil in the very near future.
