Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Michael D. Higgins

Question:

314 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans he has to provide three new classrooms and an assembly hall at Kerr boys national school, County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17377/00]

I take it that the Deputy is referring to Cahir boys' national school.

The long-term accommodation needs of Cahir boys' national school are being assessed by my Department and when this process has been completed the matter will be progressed further.

Michael Ring

Question:

315 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans he has to provide funding for a general purpose room, remedial and medical room and a principal's office, for a school (details supplied) in County Mayo. [17378/00]

My Department has received an application for additional accommodation from the management authorities of the school in question. The Deputy will appreciate, however, that my Department has a large number of school building projects on hand at present. Within this constraint, I can assure the Deputy that the application from the school in question will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
