Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Michael Bell

Question:

334 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Education and Science when sanction will be given to Tullyallen national school for the replacement of the outdated pre-fab which has been used for the past 25 years; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this unit, which his Department is responsible for, is a health hazard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17602/00]

Architectural planning for the provision of improved accommodation at Tullyallen national school is proceeding as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department. My Department has also received an application from the management authorities of the school for grant aid towards the replacement of a pre-fab. My Department is currently examining the matter and the school authorities will be kept informed of any developments.
