Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

John Perry

Question:

41 Mr. Perry asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will ensure that a work permit is immediately granted to persons (details supplied) residing in the Czech Republic who have secured employment and lodged all the documentation required; if she will make a favourable decision in view of the short ages in the workforce; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17139/00]

I can confirm that my Department has received applications for work permits to employ the non-nationals named. I understand the Department has been in touch with the applicant concerned and has sought some additional information in relation to the applications. As soon as this has been received, decisions will be taken in the cases in question.
