Vol. 521 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

135 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the long waiting list for eye surgery in the Mater Hospital, Dublin; when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11, who has been waiting over ten months for an operation, will be seen; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17794/00]

The responsibility for the provision of services at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to her as a matter of urgency.
