Question:121 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if the expert group established to examine issues relating to the paramedic profession has reported to him; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17728/00]
Written Answers. - Various Health Professions Report.
The expert group report on various health professions reported in April 2000. The report has since been considered and costed by both my Department and the Health Service Employers Agency. A Government decision was taken on 7 June 2000 to accept in principle the recommendations of the report.
Initial discussions have taken place with IMPACT, the trade union representing the professions involved and an implementation agenda has been agreed with them.
