Vol. 521 No. 6

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

117 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs when a payment book in respect of one parent family allowance will be returned with adjusted payment to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17859/00]

On 24 May 2000, the payable order book of the person concerned was received in my Department with a covering letter from the Deputy stating that she had recently taken up employment.

The person concerned was asked to forward a letter from her employer confirming the date she commenced employment and her gross weekly income. When the letter is received in my Department, the position regarding her long parent payment will be reviewed and she will be notified of the outcome without delay.
