Vol. 521 No. 6

Written Answers. - Arms Control.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

121 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views and policy on the control of arms brokers; if his attention has been drawn to Amnesty International's concerns regarding recent evidence which indicates that national and EU arms control regimes may be undermined by companies engaged in licence production agreements and by individuals or companies acting as arms brokering agents; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17805/00]

The issues raised by the Deputy are matters for my colleague the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to his parliamentary question of 31 May 2000 concerning licensed production agreements and the control of arms brokers to the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
