338 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Defence the proposed statutory instruments being prepared in, or under the auspices of his Department; the proposed effect of each; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19619/00]

A statutory instrument entitled "Air-Raid Precautions Services (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Fifth Amendment) Scheme, 2000" is currently being prepared within my Department to provide for increases in compensation, medical and other expenses payable under the air-raid precautions services (compensation for personal injuries) scheme, 1973, in respect of death or personal injuries sustained by members of Civil Defence.

This statutory instrument, which is expected to be completed shortly, will be the fifth amendment of S.I. No. 104 of 1973 – air raid precautions services (compensation for personal injuries) scheme, 1973.
