357 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the recent serious assault on a military policeman in the Curragh, County Kildare; the steps that are being taken to improve security in the Curragh Camp; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20707/00]
I have been made aware of an incident in the Curragh Camp on 26 September 2000 during which a number of military police personnel were the subject of a serious assault. I am advised by the military authorities that additional security measures have now been put in place to support the military police in the camp in the performance of their duties when required.
