Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Penalty Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

368 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when the 100% penalty for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be lifted in view of the medical evidence submitted. [19310/00]

The 2000 area aid application was received nearly a month after the 28 April closing date for receipt of applications, initially resulting in a 100% late penalty being imposed. Subsequently the person named submitted a medical certificate, stating that he was unfit to submit his application at the appropriate time. This certificate has been accepted, and no late penalty will apply to the herdowner's 2000 area aid application.
