390 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if a sympathetic review of the rejection of cow/heifer premiums will be undertaken in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19782/00]
The person named applied for suckler cow premium on 70 animals under the 1991 suckler cow premium scheme on 29 May 1991. At an inspection on 1 October 1991 it was found that 11 of the animals listed on the application were uncalved heifers and consequently the declaration had to be deemed false as heifers were not acceptable under the suckler cow premium scheme in 1991. In accordance with the regulations governing the scheme the person named was not entitled to suckler cow premium in 1991 and was also debarred from the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme.
