Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

410 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if a decision has been made on an appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Cork in respect of the Department's decision to refuse to pay him a beef premium. [20214/00]

The herdowner lodged an appeal on 15 August 2000 concerning his 1999 special beef premium application. Appeals require individual examination and are dealt with in the order in which they are received. This appeal will be dealt with in due course and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

411 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the position in relation to a 1999 headage grant application for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20252/00]

As stated in my answer to Parliamentary Question No. 123 of 24 May 2000, following processing of the 1999 area aid application of the person named, an overlap with land claimed by another herdowner was determined. The files of both the herdowners concerned were sent for ground inspections. A number of problems were identified during this inspection which have taken some considerable time to resolve. However the final results of this inspection will be available next week and the area aid application will then be fully processed without delay. No payments due can issue until the application has been fully processed. There is no record of any applications having been submitted by the person named under any of the headage or premium schemes in 1999 or indeed 2000.
