Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Area Aid Applications.

Michael Ring

Question:

414 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo received maps from the area aid unit requesting that he mark out the land boundaries in view of the fact that the maps do not contain land claimed by the applicant and the maps do not refer to the applicant; and if the area aid application submitted by this person is processed in full. [20378/00]

The person named included a particular parcel of land totalling 1.09 hectares as part of his 2000 area aid application. However, a dual claim was determined in respect of this particular parcel and maps issued to the herdowner asking him to clarify the position.

The person named has responded stating that the land shown on the maps was not his land, and that the 1.09 hectares related to a different parcel. The herdowner has been contacted again in order to clarify the precise location of this particular parcel of land and a response is awaited.
An additional overclaim has also been identified on one of the other land parcels claimed by the person named in 2000. Maps have issued to him and he has also been informed of the extent of this over-claim.
No payments can issue until all these matters have been satisfactorily resolved.
