Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Pensions.

Bernard Allen

Question:

439 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Finance if he has appointed an official from his Department to resolve the long running pension dispute involving consultants who retired before 1991; and, if so, the outcome of that official's deliberations. [19252/00]

Medical consultants' pensions are primarily the responsibility of the Minister for Health and Children and I have not appointed an official to resolve a dispute in that area.

Although I was not directly involved, I understand that the matter has now been resolved, subject to certain clarifications.
