Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Michael Ring

Question:

522 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to be provided with urgent orthodontic treatment in another health board region as the Western Health Board will not treat her until January or July 2002; and the reason the Western Health Board has been unable to treat her to date. [19349/00]

As the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board I have asked the chief executive officer of that health board to investigate the position in relation to the points raised by the Deputy in his question and to reply to him directly as a matter of urgency.
